Randy attended the University of Saskatchewan, worked for the federal department of Citizenship and Immigration for 11 years, and was the supervisor of the local office when he left in 1999 to enter the ministry.

Randy has worked at a local community church in Ward 5 for the past 11 years as an Administrator and Teacher. He is also the owner/director of a boating safety company here in Saskatoon. He has sat on the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast planning committee for 5 years, and is currently the vice-chair.

In 2009, Randy was appointed by the Minister of Health to sit on the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority, where he currently serves on the Audit and Finance Committee.

Randy has lived in Saskatoon for over 21 years, and has been a resident of Ward 5 since 1994.  He and his wife, Lauren, own a home in Silverwood and have happily raised their family here.
