City Council has established a number of  Boards and Committees to assist in the review of various matters affecting the community. There are four types:

• Standing Committees. These are committees which are comprised solely of Council members. City Council has delegated some of its responsibilities to these standing committees. They all meet publicly, with the exception of the Land Bank Committee and the Audit Committee. All of these standing committees must submit recommendations to City Council for approval.

• Advisory Committees. These are committees which provide policy advice to City Council through the appropriate standing committee on a number of issues affecting the community. The composition of advisory committees is mainly individuals from the community and representatives from community agencies and organizations.

• Boards and Commissions. These bodies include the Saskatchewan Place Board of Directors, the Saskatoon Library Board, the Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium Foundation Board of Directors, the Saskatoon Gallery and Conservatory Corporation (Mendel Art Gallery) Board of Trustees and the Board of Police Commissioners. • Quasi-Judicial Boards. City Council has established a Board of Revision, a Development Appeals Board, a Property Maintenance Appeals Board, and a Waste Management Appeals Board. The purpose of these boards is to hear appeals of property owners regarding assessment, zoning and development, property maintenance orders and waste management orders.
