The building inspection program applies to all construction for which a building permit has been issued, and all construction is required to be inspected by a City Building Inspector.

City of Saskatoon Building Inspectors are skilled and trained in the enforcement of the National Building Code of Canada 2005, as governed by the Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards Act. The city is divided into several different regions, with one building inspector providing coverage to that entire area.
