***Notice of changes to the Industrial Land Incentive Program***

  • The objective of the Industrial Land Incentive Program is to attract new industry to the Saskatoon marketplace and to provide additional opportunities for existing industries to expand their operations.  The program has been successful, especially with the favourable interest rates in today’s economy.  As part of the terms, the tenant has the ability to purchase the land at any time during the Lease Agreement.  To ensure the tenant is meeting the intent of the Policy, City Council has amended the Policy to prevent leaseholders from exercising their Option to Purchase until significant construction has begun on the parcel such as the completion of the foundation consistent with the tenants operations and the development plan presented at the onset of the lease.  Ensuring this stage of construction is complete prior to transferring Title will ensure those entering into a Lease Agreement are meeting the intent of the Industrial Land Incentive Program.
