The City of Saskatoon's physical activity and arts programs for children may be eligible for the federal Children’s Fitness Tax Credit or Children's Arts Tax Credit. Each of these federal non-refundable, personal tax credits are up to $500 per eligible child. This credit may be claimed for the applicable calendar year by parents who have registered their child in, and paid for eligible programs. View this informational handout (pdf) for details.
The receipt you received when you signed up for the program may be used for income tax purposes in the year it was paid. Remember to retain your receipts and indicate your child's date of birth on the receipt. If you require a replacement copy, please contact a Leisure Centre. Note: please allow time to have your request processed.
Your child was under 16 years OR your child, with a disability, was under 18 years at the beginning of the applicable calendar year.

The Active Families Benefit is an annual refundable tax benefit that helps Saskatchewan families with the costs of their children’s participation in cultural, recreational, and sports activities. A parent or guardian of a child 6 to 18 years of age registered in cultural, recreational and sports activities, is eligible for a fully refundable tax benefit up to $150 per child. Remember to keep your receipt for income tax purposes.
