Saskatoon Neighbourhood Profiles
The Neighbourhood Profiles publication contains data on real estate sales, dwelling numbers by housing type, age of housing by neighbourhood, home ownership, housing affordability, and housing costs by neighbourhood and for the City of Saskatoon.
State of Saskatoon Housing and Affordable Housing
The State of Saskatoon Housing reports (2004, 2006) provide data on nine key housing indicators: condition of housing, economic segregation, change in property values, community re-investment, overcrowding, availability of rental housing, availability of social and special needs housing, cost of accessing shelter, and low-income affordability.

Housing starts, under construction, completions, real estate sales, forecasts
The following Saskatoon housing reports are summarized by the Canada Mortage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). These reports can be can be accessed for free on the CMHC web page (click on the "Prairies and Territories" link on CMHC's left-hand menu). You can receive e-mail notification of these publications by clicking on the "Add to subscriptions" option (free) on the CMHC report web page.

  • Residential Construction Digest (monthly)
    This publication includes numerous tables with detailed statistical data on Saskatoon's residential construction. Year-over-year and monthly data is presented on residential starts, completions, units under construction, and unabsorbed units, and is organized by zone, house type, and tenure. (Report under 75 pages, click on CMHC link above).
  • Housing Now (quarterly)
    This publication provides insightful analysis of Saskatoon's local housing markets and a summary of housing statistics, including starts, completions, dwellings under construction, absorptions, real estate sales and home prices, as well as key economic indicators. This publication is ideally suited for lending institutions, real estate professionals, builders, homeowners, mortgage brokers, insurance agencies, property managers and public administrators.   • Housing Market Outlook (semi-annual)
    This publication offers forecasts and analyses of trends in Saskatoon's new, resale and rental housing markets. For the new home market, housing starts and price changes are examined in detail, while the resale section presents sales activity, average prices, and listings. Analysis of the rental market focuses on vacancy rates, average rents and related forecasts. An overview and forecast of key economic indicators is also detailed, along with other factors affecting the local economy and housing market. (Report is under 10 pages, click on CMHC link above).
  • Rental Market Report (annual)
    This report provides detailed data and comprehensive analysis for Saskatoon's rental market from the Fall Rental Market Survey results. Ideally suited for lending institutions, investors, developers, appraisers, property managers, renters, real estate professionals and public administrators, these reports are the best source for Fall rental market trends and detailed statistics. (Report under 30 pages, click on CMHC link above).
  • Historic Data Tables - Saskatoon CMA
    These CMHC tables bring together information from a variety of sources. Many contain annual time-series going back to 1990. They provide an overview of housing conditions and trends in the Saskatoon CMA. Contents include information on housing construction, prices, and sales; rental market trends; mortgage lending; the housing stock; household characteristics; and housing need. Tables also contain data on factors that influence housing markets,such as employment trends, demographic changes, and income growth. All tables are Excel spreadsheets.
Real Estate Sales
Visit the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors web page to track monthly MLS housing sales data.

Annual real estate sales for all residential sales within the City of Saskatoon (except sales between family members) are found in the Neighbourhood Profiles publication. This data is from the City of Saskatoon's Assessment Branch, from data supplied by the Province of Saskatchewan Land Titles office.
New Housing Price Index - Saskatoon CMA
Statistics Canada releases the New Housing Price Index on a monthly basis. The New Housing Price Index (NHPI) is a monthly series that measures changes over time in the contractors' selling prices of new residential houses, where detailed specifications pertaining to each house remain the same between two consecutive periods. The survey also collects contractors' estimates of the current value (evaluated at market price) of the land. Data is reported by census metropolitan area (CMA).

On-line Directory of Seniors' Housing
This directory is intended to be a comprehensive directory of seniors' housing in Saskatoon. This directory is compiled, maintained and updated by Staff of Outreach Services and the Community Relations Department of the Saskatoon Public Library. It is for use by seniors, their families and friends, and persons and organizations that serve seniors in Saskatchewan. The directory gives a general description of each residence, including contact information and a list of services offered. If the residence already has its own web page, we will simply link to that site.

Descriptions of residences are compiled from information sent by the residences themselves. The Saskatoon Public Library does not make judgments or endorse any particular residences in the directory; instead, they attempt to provide as much information about each residence as possible.

Housing Type by Age of Occupant Analysis (2009)
This publication presents the distribution of housing type by age of population in Saskatoon. Based on 2006 Federal Census data provided by Statistics Canada, this publication is a snapshot of housing occupancy over a five-year period. Click here for report.
