In spring 2006, the City and the RM completed a comprehensive review of the Planning District. This project involved a review of issues that accumulated since the Future Growth Study and the last District Development Plan review including:
-
the boundaries of the Planning District
-
the appropriate forms of land use and development both within and outside the City's Future Growth Sectors
-
the appropriate location of various land uses and developments, including appropriate buffers from City limits and between developments and
-
the extension of City services into the Planning District.
The Review was completed with extensive input from the public and various stakeholder organizations.
The Final Report and Recommendations are available by clicking here.
One of the key recommendations of the Review was to assess and update the District Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw. This work has been done, and the new bylaws are now available for viewing. Stakeholders and the public have been consulted on the bylaws before the bylaws were submitted to the City and RM Councils for approval.
