Sector Plans are required by the City of Saskatoon’s Official Community Plan to help achieve the City’s overall strategy to build a sustainable city. Sector Planning helps to build a sustainable city by ensuring that land and civic infrastructure are used efficiently, urban growth occurs in a rational manner, and important community facilities and services are available throughout the city.
Sector Plans are long range plans for Suburban Development Areas (SDAs). SDAs contain 8-10 neighbourhoods and the housing and community facilities needed to accommodate about 50,000 people.
