The Downtown is the centre and heart of the city and region, and will continue to provide the highest level of cultural and entertainment facilities. It will also contain the highest development densities in the city, a strong diversity of activity, and a growing resident population.
The City of Saskatoon is working to implement a number of planning initiatives, incentive programs, and special projects to build on Downtown’s increasing importance as an active mixed-use centre – a place where people live, work, and play.
These programs include the Downtown Plan, the Downtown Housing Incentives Program, and River Landing – the redevelopment of Saskatoon’s downtown riverfront.
