The Pleasant Hill Local Area Plan (LAP) was adopted by City Council on June 24, 2002. The public consultation process for this plan began in 2000 and involved the participation of a range of neighbourhood stakeholders including: residents, property owners, the Pleasant Hill Community Association, and various civic departments.
The resulting Pleasant Hill Local Area Plan Final Report presents the results of this consultation process and includes the community's vision, goals, and 33 recommendations to help achieve them.

The Pleasant Hill Village project was officially launched in June 2009. The redevelopment project is moving forward to create a village-like environment in the Pleasant Hill area, in keeping with the Pleasant Hill Local Area Plan.
