The community consultation process for the Westmount Local Area Plan (LAP) began with a community-wide meeting on November 19, 2008. 

Since then, the Westmount Local Area Plan Committee (LAPC) has been meeting regularly to discuss specific topics affecting the neighbourhood including:

• Land Use and Zoning
• Parks, Recreation and Healthy Living
• Neighbourhood Safety
• Housing and Future Growth
• Sustainability
• Transportation
• Heritage and Culture
• Municipal Services

All of the topic-based meetings for the Westmount LAP have now been completed. The Planning and Development Branch is in the process of preparing a draft report for review by City Administration and the Local Area Planning Committee. It is anticipated that the Westmount LAP will be sent to City Council for adoption in the fall of 2010.
