On August 17, 2009, Saskatoon City Council authorized City Administration to hire a consultant to undertake a comprehensive study of the taxi industry in Saskatoon. A proposal from the Tennessee Transportation & Logistics Foundation was accepted by City Council on November 16, 2009 for a professional assessment of the Saskatoon taxi industry.
Dr. Mundy and his associates from the Tennessee Transportation & Logistics Foundation commenced their study in January 2010. After extensive communication with members of the taxi industry and other stakeholders, Dr. Mundy submitted the Saskatoon Taxi Study Final Report. This report includes future recommendations for Saskatoon’s taxi industry, a proposal for a phased-in implementation plan, and feedback from stakeholders.
