The Saskatoon Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) will be hosting Basic Emergency Management (BEM) courses in 2012.
BEM curriculum adheres to the standards set out and supplied by Saskatchewan Corrections and Public Safety. Upon successful completion of the BEM course, participants are eligible to take further training with Saskatchewan Corrections and Public Safety in the area of emergency management, or other advanced training in Ottawa.
The Saskatoon EMO BEM course is open to individuals living in and around Saskatoon who have volunteer or paid involvement in emergency planning, mitigation, response and recovery in their area. If you are interested in one of the courses and live further than a 100 km radius of Saskatoon, please contact the EMO Coordinator directly for clarification of the registration process.
There is no fee for these courses, however pre-registration is required. Personnel will work to facilitate your application with Saskatchewan Corrections and Public Safety if required.
BEM courses require a minimum of ten participants per class to a maximum of 25. If the date and class you select does not have the minimum number of participants required, you will be contacted seven days prior to the start date with a cancellation notice.
