Management of the Operations Division is the responsibility of the Deputy Chief. In addition to ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with department policy, the Deputy Chief is responsible for the Fire Prevention and Inspections Division as well as Emergency Measures Operations.
In addition to these duties, the Deputy Chief manages the overall quality assurance of all services and emergency operations within the department. Quality Assurance is a process that identifies specific benchmarks that are measurable and meet industry standards. This process allows an organization to continually monitor results and maintain effective and efficient service delivery.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief are four Battalion Chiefs. Each Battalion Chief is responsible for one of four rotating shifts that serve each of the nine fire halls in Saskatoon.
