The Customer Services Group's core function is to administer, update, maintain and inspect connections/disconnections to the City’s Water and Sewer Utility.  Working with industry, the group issues annual Water & Sewer Licenses to contractors who are permitted to install water & sewer infrastructure on public rights-of-way. Inspection and record keeping of all connections, whether it be a residential connection, or services to a new commercial development, are handled by the group.

The group is also responsible for  the permitting of water and sewer plans as part of the Building Permit process or the Foundation Permit process; the issuing of Use of Right-of-Way Permits and Demolition Permits which affect water and sewer services; and the issuing of Curb Crossing Permits to allow driveway crossings across public rights-of-way.
