Spotted Knapweed(Centaurea maculosa Lam.)
Stem: Can have one or more branches that reach up to 1 metre (1 to 3 feet) in height. Stems and leaves are covered in fine hairs creating a grayish-green appearance.
Leaves: Leaves are pinnately divided along the main stems.
Flowers: Are delicate pinkish-purple rays that emerge from spotted-looking bracts.
General: Spotted Knapweed only reproduces by seed but quickly spreads by producing a chemical that inhibits the growth of neighboring plants. This noxious weed is not palatable to livestock.
