Woodlawn Cemetery is a landscaped, well-maintained 94-acre site that is owned and operated by the City of Saskatoon. It is centrally located in Saskatoon, and easily accessible by car or public transport.
The City of Saskatoon is growing, and along with this growth comes a diversity of cultures. Sections of the cemetery have, therefore, been designated to accommodate different religious traditions and customs, including:
- Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'i
- Islamic Ismalian
Woodlawn also has designated sections for:
- Cremated Remains
- University of Saskatchewan
- Field of Honour (Military)
- Flat Marker
- Upright Monument
Woodlawn Cemetery offers several choices for both casket interments and cremated remains.
CASKET: plots available for casket burials include single graves, double graves (side by side), and single deep graves (two burials in a single deepened grave).
CREMATION: choices for the burial of cremated remains include in-ground cremation graves, above-ground columbarium niches, scattering on an existing family grave or a scattering garden.
CHOOSING AN APPROPRIATE GRAVESITE
The choice of a gravesite is a very personal decision. However, consideration for friends and family who will wish to visit may also influence individual choices. When a choice is being made, accessibility and appearance are key factors to consider.
Woodlawn Cemetery is centrally located within the City. It is accessible by public transportation, with a bus stop directly behind the Administration office on Second Avenue North. It is also accessible by private car, and offers ample public parking.
Woodlawn Cemetery's Perpetual Care Fund ensures long-term maintenance is carried out according to high quality standards.
