Help Us Make A CLEAN SWEEP
Each year the City of Saskatoon cleans thousands of tonnes of sand and debris from over 1125 kilometres of roads. The work done by City crews helps to prevent the material from going into our storm sewer system, reduces the dust, and makes streets safer for cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists.
Every street within the city is swept each year. Street sweeping in the commercial areas and on major roadways begins in early to mid-April, weather permitting. Work continues throughout the summer with crews sweeping roadways in commercial areas every two to three weeks.
Here's how you can help us make a Clean Sweep!
Parked vehicles are a problem!
Parked vehicles make it impossible to clean your street properly. Residents will receive door hangers with the date their street is being swept. In areas of high parking concentration "NO PARKING" signs will be used. Please don't park on your street the day it is scheduled for sweeping.
| Watch for your door hanger...
About two days prior to the date your street is schdulde for sweeping, you will receive a door hanger advising you of the date. |

...and for these signs! In areas with excessive on-street parking, signs will be posted advising of street sweeping. This means that sweeping will begin within the next twenty-four hours. On the date indicated, parking is not allowed between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. In areas where "no-parking" signs are posted, parked vehicles maybe ticketed and towed to a street nearby. |

Poor weather can delay sweeping
If poor weather delays or cancels sweeping on your street, a new date will be set and another door hanger will be delivered to you, advising of the sweeping date.
How can you help?
Please help us make a "Clean Sweep" by not parking on your street between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on the day it is scheduled for sweeping, and by sweeping off your sidewalk and driveway before your street is swept.
