The traffic sound attenuation program was created to protect outdoor spaces of existing residential areas that are adjacent to high volume roadways. Only existing residential sites with a rear or side lot adjacent to high traffic roadways are considered for a sound attenuation barrier. Apartment-style residential land uses do not qualify for sound attenuation measures.
The City has identified an extensive listing of locations for sound attenuation measures.
Current list of locations under consideration are included within this report.
If your location is not included in this listing, you can request to be included in the program. The first step is to measure the sound at your location to determine the current sound levels. All locations are evaluated based on existing sound levels; classification and proximity of existing roadways; existing sound attenuation measures; and, future development of the City.
