The mandate of Saskatoon Light & Power (SL&P) is to provide safe, reliable, and cost effective electricity in an environmentally responsible way to the 59,000 properties within the City's franchise area. To minimize the length of customer outages, SL&P focuses on system maintenance and emphasis continues to be placed on staff training and safety. Our infrastructure is well maintained and provides a high level of service to customers, with system reliability indices that compare well with other utilities across Canada.

SL&P has been debt free since the early 1970s and contributes significantly to Saskatoon's general revenue through a Grant in Lieu of taxes and a Return on Investment (R.O.I).

Saskatoon's local economy also benefits directly by the materials, supplies and services purchased by the Utility.
