Saskatoon Light & Power believes in providing their staff the opportunity for growth and training.  The Utility believes in training within and allowing its employees the opportunity to advance their careers and shape their futures.

Saskatoon Light & Power is engaged in a proactive apprenticeship training program that will see the opportunity for apprenticeships to continue through the next several years.  In cooperation with IBEW Local Union 319, we will see a transition during the next decade where our non-trade support positions evolve into Journeyman through apprenticeships.  Added to that, there will also be a number of opportunities for further apprenticeships through our succession planning for replacing retiring employees.

The apprenticeship program focuses on the Power Line Person and Power Electrician trades.  Those who successfully complete the apprenticeships will have the opportunity to work in an exciting, challenging and rewarding field of work.

Interested persons considering the opportunity for an apprenticeship require a minimum of a Grade 12 education, including Math A30 (Algebra 20), Math C30 (Trigonometry 30) and Physics 30.
