Jack Adilman Fund Open House on Tuesday, September 14

Jack Adilman (1920 - 1992), a prominent business man, sports man, and tireless supporter of amateur sports in Saskatoon has provided, through his estate, a bequest that will continue to support amateur sports. An Open House regarding the Jack Adilman Fund will be held September 14 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Cosmo Civic Centre (3130 Laurier Drive). 

Applicants may apply for assistance for activities taking place between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2012.  The deadline to apply is November 15, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. Applicants must be non-profit corporations registered federally or with the Corporations Branch at Saskatchewan Justice Department and have a primary mandate to deliver amateur sports at a recreational level in Saskatoon.

The Jack Adilman Fund supports projects that are not otherwise funded by the City of Saskatoon including: capital expenditures, asset acquisition, and one-time special circumstances to meet a significant need.

Projects will be reviewed by an advisory committee who will assess applications using the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated community need
  • Community impact (i.e. number of people positively affected)
  • How the fund will assist the organization in increasing or improving participation of amateur sports in Saskatoon
  • Demographics of people using the facility or equipment
  • Quality and strength of the project
  • Partnership arrangements

The Jack Adilman Fund will provide successful applicants with a minimum of $5,000 and cover up to a maximum of 75% of the cost of the project.
