Mayor Atchison Appoints New Chief Communications Officer 

For Immediate Release:  January 15, 2013

Saskatoon Mayor Donald Atchison today announced the appointment of broadcast journalist Richard Brown as his Chief Communications Officer.

Brown brings more than three decades of experience as a journalist and media manager to his role in the Mayor’s Office.  A Saskatchewan native, Brown began his career in Prince Albert.  He has reported and anchored for major television networks in Canada and the United States earning multiple awards for broadcast excellence including eight Emmys and the George Foster Peabody medal.

“I’m pleased that we’re able to get Richard on board.  His credentials are impeccable and because this is a new role in the Mayor’s Office, we needed someone with his level of experience,” said Mayor Donald Atchison.

Brown will coordinate all media for the Mayor’s Office and begins on January 16, 2013.
