Snow and Ice Update - November 12, 2012 7:15 a.m. 
Saskatoon recently experienced:
A major snowfall
This will be the last update on the snow clearing operations for the Friday, November 9 - Sunday, November 11 snow storm.
This is affecting driving conditions  
Crews are:
Applying de-icing material (sand/salt)
Plowing the roadways
Plowing snow on sidewalks and pathways
Outside contractors are assisting with the work
Civic crews and contractors are finishing the Priority 1-3 street system today. All streets should be finished by this evening with only minor cleanup required in some areas. Sanding operations and sidewalk/pathway clearing will continue.

Crews are now working on:
Priority 2 streets: rapid transit bus routes, busy roads such as Broadway Avenue, Fairlight Drive, 37th Street
Priority 3 streets: Main streets and schools, remainder of arterials and collectors

REMINDER: City Snow Dumps remain closed until further notice.

Messages for the public:
Road maintenance crews are working as quickly as possible to provide safe winter driving conditions on our roadways.
The snow plows and graders are large and slow moving. Please be careful when passing them.
Drives are reminded to please slow down and allow extra time to get to your destination.
