The PotashCorp Fireworks Festival has moved to a new launch site on the east riverbank, which involves the closure of some roads and trails:
- Starting Thursday, September 2 at 6:00 p.m., the MVA trails in Rotary Park North between the Broadway Bridge and Traffic Bridge will be closed until the event is over on Saturday, September 4 at 10:00 p.m.;
- Saskatchewan Crescent from Eastlake Avenue to McPherson Avenue will close from 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. each night on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4; and,
- During the actual fireworks show (from 9:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday, the first 200 metres of the southeast end of the pedestrian walkway on the Broadway Bridge will be temporarily closed. The north side pedestrian walkway will remain open.
To accommodate other Festival activities on the west riverbank, these closures will also be in place from Thursday, September 2 at 6:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 4 at 10:00 p.m.
- 2nd Avenue from the south side of Saunders Avenue to the Prairie Wind roundabout;
- Spadina Crescent from 2nd Avenue to 20th Street; and,
- 3rd Avenue from 19th Street to the Traffic Bridge roundabout.
The City of Saskatoon thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience, and asks them to obey all detours and signs in the area.
