Civic services unchanged for National Day of Mourning Monday, September 19
Canadians will pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II with a National Day of Mourning on Monday, September 19.
As the day has not been designated as a provincial statutory holiday in Saskatchewan, the City of Saskatoon will maintain regular business operations on September 19. City-operated facilities will be open regular business hours, and residents are reminded that payment will be required in City-managed pay parking areas on the National Day of Mourning.
For members of the public who wish to express their condolences, a condolence book is available for signing in the lobby of City Hall during regular business hours until end of day on September 19.
To honour the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the City of Saskatoon’s flags are currently at half-mast until the day of Her Majesty’s Funeral Service on September 19. Following this, they will remain lowered in remembrance of the victims of the attacks that occurred at the communities of James Smith Cree Nation & Weldon.
