USask, City of Saskatoon study explores how to make downtown living attractive

Making parts of downtown more pedestrian-friendly, creating diversified housing close to the riverfront, and repurposing barren or underused properties to meet community needs are among key ideas gleaned in a study on making downtown Saskatoon a more desirable place to live.

City announces several public artwork installations in Saskatoon

The City is pleased to announce several recent public artwork installations at various locations throughout the Downtown, Riversdale and Broadway areas:  

“Make a Wish” by Kyle Thornley. Steel sculpture that captures the essence of resilience, growth and optimism expressed through a mature dandelion stalk and seeds, held by vibrant, colourful fingers. Located Downtown at the corner of 2nd Avenue N and 23rd Street E.

Treaty 6 Territory & Homeland of the Métis Bike Racks being installed along 21st Street to honour Indigenous histories

The City is pleased to announce the installation of new bike racks along Saskatoon’s historic 21st Street that honour First Nations and Métis peoples’ histories and cultures.

The bike racks were created in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action No. 79:  Participate in a strategy to commemorate the contributions and history of Aboriginal peoples to Canada

Last day of free Saturday parking is March 27

Residents are reminded that the last day of free Saturday parking in City-managed pay parking areas is Saturday, March 27, 2021. Payment will be required again starting Saturday, April 3, 2021.
