What is the Project About?
The City of Saskatoon is working to clarify and simplify our park development standards to encourage the design, construction, and maintenance of healthy and sustainable parks for our community. The goals of the Park Development Standards Update project are to:
- Clarify and simplify park policies and documents
- Set in place appropriate policies, requirements and guidelines to implement City objectives
- Establish new standards for sustainability and climate resilience
- Ensure all parks are safe and accessible
By setting in place the policies, requirements and guidelines for park development in Saskatoon we hope to continue to encourage the development of safe, accessible, and sustainable parks for the community.
How Can you Get Involved?
From September 2021 to March 2022, Wavefront Planning & Design Inc. is inviting Saskatoon residents to provide their feedback on the current park development standards, including any improvements they would like to see made. Your feedback, along with best practice research, will be provided to City Council for their consideration.
You can review the Draft Park Development Standards by clicking this link.
