Were you able to incorporate all features that were requested in the survey in the park's design?
Unfortunately, we were not. Due to budget and space limitations, only some of the features identified in the survey were able to be added to the final concept plan. However, it is important to note that many of the features people indicated they would like to see in the park will be either available in this park or one of the other parks currently in the Rosewood neighbourhood.
Are you able to include features like a toboggan hill or spray pad in this park?
Although these features are not able to be included in this park, these features are part of Glen Penner Park, which is 2 blocks south-west from this park.
Are there open areas to play soccer or sports like ultimate frisbee?
Yes. A focal point of this park is a large open green space area that can be used for U5 and U7 soccer, but is an area that can also be used for recreational use. There will also be open green space "gathering areas" where people can hold small group activities or even fitness classes. If groups are looking for open green space in order to play sports, keep in mind that two other parks in Rosewood have multiuse sports fields (Glen Penner Park and Swick Park) as well as baseball diamonds (Glen Penner Park).
When is the park planning to be built?
Now that a concept plan has been created, the next step in the process will be to put this project out for contractors to bid on. The intent will be to confirm a contractor and to complete this park construction in 2021.
