Over the past 12 months the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo has been collaboratively working on the development of a Park & Zoo Master Plan refresh.
To date, the review of the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo Master Plan has included:
- A survey of key stakeholder groups to identify specific concerns or issues, services provided, and future vision for the site;
- Consensus building between stakeholder groups and the integration of botanical, zoological, heritage, and recreation themes into a Master Plan refresh that provides a shared vision for the site by all stakeholders;
- Review of the current master plan and facility assessment reports; and
- The continued integration of the Commemorative Integrity Statement.
Having a Master Plan is a requirement of the Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA) accreditation process and is also a valuable tool for leveraging funds from government agencies and private corporations.
