Engage
WintercityYXE is an effort to celebrate what makes Saskatoon a fun, safe and thriving place in the winter, while working to reduce the barriers that many in Saskatoon face during the coldest months of the year. The City of Saskatoon and the community developed an action plan for how we as a community can achieve a shared vision of a winter city, called WintercityYXE – Saskatoon's Winter City Strategy. The Strategy was shared with City Council in September 2020.
Our next step is to develop an Implementation Plan to support the Strategy. We have taken feedback from earlier engagement activities to develop a Draft WintercityYXE Implementation Plan. The plan provides information about partners, current support, timelines and measurement for each of the 25 actions identified in the Strategy.
How Can You Provide Feedback?
Review the Draft WintercityYXE Implementation Plan and complete our short online survey (SURVEY CLOSED FEBRUARY 22).
Next Steps
Feedback will be considered in finalizing the WintercityYXE Implementation Plan. We will summarize all feedback and explain how it informed the project in a What We Heard Report that will be shared on this page and attached to any reports going to City Council. We are planning to take a report to City Council in April 2021.
Future work related to each action is expected to be led or managed by the identified partners. Actions that require City funding or resource supports will be brought forward through the City’s typical budget process.
