Low Emissions: Saskatoon's Mitigation Strategy
- An update on the City’s emissions inventories results for 2016 and 2017 years
- Emissions, population and energy modelling projections of the City over the next 30 years to 2050 in a Business as Planned (Status Quo) Scenario and in a Low Emissions Scenario
- Detailed actions required for a Low Emissions Community and targets to reach for each action
- Benefits of a Low Emissions Community
- Financial & Economic Analysis
- Implementation Plan for the actions
A project update on the plan was presented in the form of the Recommendations Report to City Council in November 2018. This update showcased some opportunities the city can take to reach our targets. Since then, the opportunities have been further refined and a summarized list is presented in the LEC Plan.
With the help of our external consultant, the City had the CityInSight Visualization Tool developed. This tool is a data visualization used for Saskatoon’s LEC Plan. Get a better understanding of the projected emissions across the city, change certain variables for your own analysis and explore how Saskatoon can take action on climate.
