Term: Two Temporary for approximately two months call in list
The Summer Program Leader will be responsible for coordinating activities for children and youth in accordance to the directives of the Community Development Summer Playground Program. This includes (but is not limited to): developing, organizing and running land based programming activities for children and youth with a focus on Indigenous traditional and cultural teachings. Provide supervision and leadership to children and youth at various sites across the city, both indoor and outdoor. Organize and run high-quality weekly programming that will help develop physical literacy, self-esteem, team work and social skills. General administration and reporting will be required during the summer months including weekly generated statistics report. Create a fun, safe and welcoming environment for all children and youth.
Preference is given to Metis and First Nation applicants with a minimum of one year’s post-secondary education in the field of Recreation/Leisure, Physical Education, Early Childhood Development, or Education
Preference is given to applicants with:
Experience working with children such as baby-sitting, coaching, etc.
Involvement in extracurricular activities (sports, dance, music, drama, arts, Guiding, Scots, etc.)
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License, Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C is required
High Five® Certification
Must be returning to post-secondary in the fall of 2020.
Salary: $17.38 to $19.16 per hour (2018 rates)
