The City of Saskatoon’s power utility, Saskatoon Light & Power (SL&P), has been recognized by the Canadian Electricity Association through its Sustainable Electricity Awards program that promotes leaders in sustainable development and corporate responsibility in the Canadian electricity sector. The award was announced at a ceremony held in Toronto on November 15, 2017.

Highway 16 northbound flyover lanes from Idylwyld Drive to Marquis Drive, will be closed this Sunday for street light repairs. This closure is scheduled to reopen by the early afternoon, barring weather delays or unforeseen circumstances. 

Drivers are encouraged to use the detour route at Marquis Drive to access to Highway 16 northbound.

Saskatoon Transit encourages Rush fans to avoid traffic and parking by taking public transit to the Saskatchewan Rush game on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Buses will leave from the Special Events Stop downtown (23rd Street and 2nd Avenue, outside 2nd Avenue Lofts) to SaskTel Centre at the following times:

  • 5:45 p.m.
  • 6:00 p.m.
  • 6:20 p.m.
  • 6:35 p.m.
  • 6:55 p.m.
  • 7:10 p.m.

Buses depart SaskTel Centre after the game as they fill up (around 9:15 p.m.).

With forecasts calling for warmer temperatures, snow and possible freezing rain this afternoon, drivers are reminded to take extra caution on Circle Drive, overpasses and bridges where the risk of icy conditions is high. Heavy snowfall is expected during the afternoon commute.
