Call for Artists: Artists in Place: The Bunkhouse Project April – September Residency 2023 at Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo
The City of Saskatoon invites emerging and established artists in all disciplines (including writers, composers, visual artists, musicians, theatre artists, video, multidisciplinary, social practice, and performance artists) to apply for a residency in the historic Bunkhouse at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo (SFFP&Z).
Artists in Place: The Bunkhouse Project is a residency program to revitalize the historic Bunkhouse at the SFFP&Z through the development and implementation of an artist studio program. The program was established in 2019 when several local artists were selected to set up studios in the Bunkhouse for an initial residency.
Project goals include:
- to provide opportunities for artistic expression in a civic facility
- to provide opportunities for artists to connect and learn from each other
- to inspire artists through the nature, animals, and people at the SFFP&Z and connect the SFFP&Z to a larger community
The residency will begin April 10 until September 1, 2023. The Bunkhouse will be available from 9 am to 4 pm each day with extended hours in the summer months.
The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on January 23, 2023.
