City Council amends Open-Air Fires Bylaw residents encouraged to burn responsibly & respectfully
Today, City Council passed Bylaw No. 9484 The Fire and Protective Services Amendment Bylaw, 2018 to amend Bylaw No. 7990, The Fire and Protectives Services, 2001 to prohibit open-air fires outside the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.
What you can expect from us
- Effective today, this new regulation, along with others outlined in Bylaw No. 7990, will be enforced by the Saskatoon Fire Department.

- Consider talking to your neighbours to let them know when you plan to build a fire, in case their health may be adversely affected by open-air fire smoke in your neighbourhood.
- Consider switching to a cleaner burning alternative: natural gas or propane.
