Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Saskatoon with 15 to 20 cm forecast today and tapering off tomorrow morning. City crews worked through the night, and remain on the go today, focusing on Circle Drive and applying de-icing materials as it continues to snow. The priority while it snows is to keep the driving lanes clear along Circle Drive and the busiest freeway and arterial streets. Then when it stops snowing and those lanes are graded, they move into the neighbourhood priority 2 and 3 streets. If more snow falls, the crews will return to the priority 1 streets.
Drivers should adjust their driving for the road conditions, leave extra room and time for their commute. When safe to do so, you can report icy locations to the Customer Care Centre at 306-975-2476 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please watch for blue and amber flashing lights on road maintenance equipment and leave room for them to do their work.
