COVID-19: Daily update on changes to programs and services – May 11, 2020

For immediate release: May 11, 2020 - 4:40pm
FI20-1239

The City is doing its part to flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases in Saskatoon. We have made many staffing and service changes so that our employees can safely deliver services to residents and to make sure people remain physically apart from one another. This way we can all work together by staying apart – it will protect the health of essential frontline healthcare staff, core service workers and first-responders. These actions in turn protect all of us.

City Council & Committee Meetings: Remote Public Participation Now Available

The City has introduced a new, temporary process whereby residents can make a remote presentation to Council/Committee via teleconference. The Remote Public Participation system was launched at today’s Standing Policy Committee meeting on Finance.

Since City Council business moved to a virtual platform in mid-March, the City has been working to identify a method of remote public participation that was low/no cost, widely accessible, and would pair with existing web streaming and virtual meeting technologies.

Reopening the public presentation portion of Council and Committee meetings will ensure City Hall remains accessible. Information on how to submit a request to present to Council or Committee is posted to saskatoon.ca/meetings.
