The first Household Hazardous Waste Day of the year will be held on SUNDAY, April 8th. Please note the hours of the events have changed to 8am – 2:30pm.
“With the increasing popularity of our Household Hazardous Waste Days, we have been studying ways to further improve this service to citizens who help us with the responsible disposal of these everyday cleaners and household items that do not belong in our Landfill. An earlier start time, has been noted as one way to respond to current visitor preferences and ending earlier will also give SaskTel Centre extra time to implement parking management strategies for evening events.”
To help residents safely dispose of household hazardous materials, the City of Saskatoon coordinates regular Drop-Off Days. A temporary site is set-up at SaskTel Centre parking lot (101 - 3515 Thatcher Avenue) from 8:00am to 2:30pm on the following days in 2018:
- April 8 (Sunday)
- May 27 (Sunday)
- June 16
- July 14
- August 18
- September 8
- October 28 (Sunday)
- November 17
Household hazardous waste includes corrosive, flammable or poisonous materials such as aerosols, cleaning products, pesticides, fertilizers and more. Putting these materials in your garbage or recycling, or pouring them down your drain, contaminates the landfill and water.
