Intersection at Neault Road (Dalmeny Grid), Elk Point Road and 33rd Street closes for 7 days for watermain work
Contractors will begin installing a watermain at the intersection of Neault Road (Dalmeny Grid), Elk Point Road and 33rd Street early Tuesday morning at around 7 am. While this 7-day project is underway, there will be no access between Neault/Elk Point Roads and 33rd Street.
33rd Street will be closed between Neault Road and the Kensington Road roundabout. Traffic heading into the city from Highways 14 and 7 will also be impacted by this construction work.
Drivers who usually use this intersection are advised to expect detours and plan for delays. Multiple message boards will be in place well ahead of the work zone directing traffic through the appropriate detours, but drivers are encouraged to avoid this area if possible.
Signs will be in place reminding drivers to reduce speeds to 60 km/hr in the work zone. Speed reductions are put in place for the safety of the workers and the road users. Fines for speeding in a work zone have increased to $440 for driving 20 km/hr over the speed limit and $1,008 when speeds reach 40 km/hr over the speed limit. Please respect work zone signs and workers for their safety and yours.
