Lorne Avenue closed north of Circle Drive for approximately 5 days starting September 25th

For immediate release: September 24, 2018 - 6:00am
TU18-531

Starting tomorrow (September 25), Lorne Avenue will be closed north of Circle Drive to decommission a watermain. This work is expected to take about 5 days barring weather events or unexpected circumstances.

The first part of this construction project, completed in August, connected a new, upgraded PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) watermain to the western side of the Western Development Museum. The work taking place over the next week is to decommission the old watermain which is located at a different location further to the south of the museum.

During this closure, there will continue to be access to Circle Drive. Signs will be in place detouring road users around the construction zone using Jasper Avenue. These detours are not expected to cause major delays, but road users should allow some extra time for their daily commute.

Check for Service Alerts on your bus route at SaskatoonTransit.ca/service-alerts or on your mobile device using the real-time app called Transit.

For updates on construction projects anytime, refer to the Road Restrictions and Construction Projects interactive map. Road users are reminded to reduce speeds, stay alert and mind posted signage and barriers when encountering a construction zone.
