Public Art Talk: “Rooted in Story” with Danica Lorer on Tuesday, July 23 at 7pm

In this free public talk from the Artists in Place: The Bunkhouse Project, storyteller Danica Lorer will discuss the power of story and how connections are made by tapping in to memory and imagination.  Danica believes that stories are for everyone and by listening to and sharing the stories of our communities and the spaces we inhabit it fosters a greater respect for each other and the world.

Danica Lorer has spent the past twenty years as a professional storyteller. She has been struck by lightning, a moose, a rogue semi-tire, vehicles, and the odd strange idea. She is a freelance writer, workshop facilitator, face and body painter, poet, and the host of Shaw’s literary arts program 'Lit Happens'. She has been published in untethered, Poetry All Over the Floor, Grain, release any words stuck inside of you, and Alice Unbound: Beyond Wonderland.

Artists in Place: The Bunkhouse Project is an artist-in-residence pilot program sponsored by the City of Saskatoon, with a grant from the Saskatchewan Arts Board’s Artists in Communities program.
