Reminder: City-Wide notifynow TEST Message Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6, 10 a.m.
The City of Saskatoon’s Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) will send a notifynow TEST message to residents of Saskatoon tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. The message will clearly indicate that 'this is a TEST'. notifynow sends a TEST message twice a year to residents, helping residents become more familiar with the notifynow messaging system and also allowing the EMO to assess the efficiency of the database.
notifynow messages alert you so you’ll know what to do, where to go, & what to expect should there be an emergency situation in Saskatoon, or one only affecting your neighbourhood. Some examples of emergency situations where you could receive a notifynow safety message could be an extreme weather situation (tornado, major blizzard), hazardous materials spill, train derailment, or plane crash. notifynow is a free service.
Visit saskatoon.ca/notifynow and tell us your communication device preference – landline, cellphone, text or email, or register a few options. The notifynow system will send your notifynow message to the devices that you specify. You are also able to sign-up your family members for notifynow, and up to five addresses that are important to you.
Residents with an unlisted, or not publicly available phone number, those who have just moved to Saskatoon, and those without a landline, will need to sign-up at saskatoon.ca/notifynow to receive their notifynow messages.
The ability to receive timely emergency communications is critical to persons with hearing or speech difficulties. To receive accessible notifynow messages, enter up to two different TTY electronic device methods for text communication via telephone.
