Reminder! Residents should expect a notifynow TEST message at 10:00 a.m. this morning, December 5, 2018

For immediate release: December 5, 2018 - 9:17am
AF18-128

The City of Saskatoon's Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) will send residents of Saskatoon a notifynow TEST message this morning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

The Emergency Measures Organization tests the notifynow emergency notification system twice yearly to familiarize Saskatoon residents with how a notifynow message sounds, and to help be better prepared to respond appropriately in a real emergency situation. Testing the notifynow system also helps to assess the accuracy of the resident database.

What residents should know:

  • if you have a publicly listed phone number, you are automatically in the notifynow emergency notification system
  • the notifynow test message will clearly indicate ‘this is a TEST message
  • notifynow is a free service; but remember, the system can’t reach you if your information is not up-to-date
  • notifynow emergency safety messages can be sent to you by text, voice recording, email or through TTY numbers

Residents can easily customize their notifynow profile and learn more at saskatoon.ca/notifynow or call 306-975-3210.
