Road closures due to railway upgrades Saturday and Sunday
Both Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and Canadian National Railway (CN) will be completing upgrades and rail replacement work this coming weekend. Some roadways will be closed while this necessary work is underway.
The 33rd Street overpass between Circle Drive and Edmonton Avenue will be closed on Saturday, September 26 starting at 7:00 a.m. while CN completes rail upgrades. This work is expected to take nine hours to complete. Access to and from Circle Drive from 33rd Street will be limited.
Preston Avenue will be closed between Research Drive and Preston Crossing Mall (south entrance) on Saturday, September 26, starting at 11:00 p.m. while CP replaces rail tracks. This work is expected to take about 24 hours to complete.
11th Street West will be closed between Dundonald Avenue and the Circle Drive exits starting Sunday, September 27 at 7:00 a.m. This work will take about nine hours to complete.
Advance detour signs will be in place leading up to all work locations, reminding motorists to use alternate routes.
All work should be completed within the suggested time frames, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.
