TC20-963

Plows, graders and sanders are busy clearing snow and treating ice on high-traffic roads today. The City has called a snow event due to more than five centimeters of accumulated snow. Grading of priority streets is initiated under these conditions.

22 graders are clearing priority streets including 8th Street, Idylwyld Drive, 22nd Street and College Drive and 6 high-speed plows are currently focused on Circle Drive. 10 sanders are out applying salt and sand on intersections, bridge decks and other high traffic streets. Numerous sidewalk plows will continue clearing sidewalks adjacent to City properties.

Still, streets, bridge decks, freeway ramps, overpasses and high-traffic intersections may be icy and snow packed in places. Please slow down, leave extra room and watch for blue and amber flashing lights on road equipment.

When safe to do so, drivers can report icy locations to the Customer Care Centre at 306-975-2476 or e-mail customercare@saskatoon.ca.
