Taylor Street and Arlington Avenue intersection improvements to be completed mid-September
Improvements to the Taylor Street and Arlington Avenue intersection are progressing well, however, unexpected repairs to underground powerlines will delay the project by a few weeks. Starting Tuesday, intermittent lane restrictions will be in place in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Taylor Street between Circle Drive and Arlington Avenue in order to complete the repairs.
Two-way traffic will continue to be maintained, but road users are advised to plan for delays. Some sidewalk restrictions will also be in place.
Powerline repairs should take about a week to complete, at which point the final improvements to the intersection will be finished. All work is scheduled to be done by mid-September, barring unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.
Improvements at the intersection started August 13 and have included:
- Widening Taylor Street eastbound, after the Arlington Avenue intersection.
- Realigning Taylor Street, after the Arlington Avenue intersection, to create a continuous two-lane eastbound section of roadway.
- Reconfiguration of sidewalks, concrete medians and light posts to match the realignment.
