Traffic pattern changes start Sunday at Boychuk and Highway 16
Construction of the new Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 Interchange has progressed to a point where girder installation can begin.
The concrete structures that support the bridge deck will be lifted into place as soon as they arrive on site. The first shipment is expected on Tuesday, April 24.
Traffic patterns through the intersection will change starting on Sunday, April 22. The westbound lanes of Highway 16 through the construction zone will close. The eastbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic. All turns will be accommodated, however, extensive delays can be expected during this work (approximately 4 weeks). Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 Interchange will open in the summer of 2019.
