The City shared tips and resources with residents this week with timely PSAs, a Facebook contest and at saskatoon.ca/waterweek to reduce the risk of home flooding this spring and summer.

Every home is at risk for flooding in a fast spring snow melt or a heavy summer rain. Being prepared can reduce your flood risk.

Water Week is an opportunity for Saskatoon residents to learn about water-related infrastructure and services. It is also a time when citizens can take a moment to appreciate the hundreds of dedicated staff who keep the water running to our taps, ensure safe drinking water and remove waste and melt water from homes and neighbourhoods 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

From maintaining the City water infrastructure valued at $8 billion to installing AMI metres in more than 24,000 homes and repairing water main breaks on the coldest days of winter, our dedicated staff are proud of the job they do – and we thank them for it.
