Winter driving conditions activate City crews
Saskatoon is experiencing a sneak peek at winter this weekend. This weather combined with the temperature drop has brought on winter driving conditions for road users, including icy roads and blowing snow. City crews are using a combination of salt and sand to add traction to freeways and high-traffic roadways.
Drivers should slow down and use caution during their commute as snow and ice may cause bridge decks, freeway ramps, overpasses and high-traffic intersections to be icy.
Eight sanders are currently activated. Please watch for their blue and amber flashing lights and leave room for road equipment to do their work.
When safe to do so, please report icy road conditions to the 24-hour Customer Care Centre at 306-975-2476. Learn about winter road maintenance at saskatoon.ca/snow.
